Tango
The Tango shows itself in the lyrics (specially the "lunfardo", origin of most of its words); the music (the "bandoneon", that gave a melancholic and grambling sound to the music of the Rio de la Plata); and the dance (practiced at the "milongas" and that you can see nowadays in many shows).
Buenos Aires has a lot of "tanguerias" where you can dance tango, learn or just see professional dancers. In general, the best places have live shows including dinner (with typical meat dishes or international dishes). The "milongas" are places where you can dance tango, and sometimes before the dance, they offer classes, in charge of professional dancers.
For inexperienced, in group or individual lessons; tango, milonga or vals; they offer classes at the different cultural centers. Lessons take between one and two hours each. The ideal number of lessons is four or five. They teach the basic steps, simple "ocho", and movements that can be learned in little time.
