Commercial Times
Banks and exchange houses are opened from Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm; and commercial offices are generally opened between 9 am and 12 am during the morning, and 2pm and 7 pm during the afternoon shift. Shops open generally at 9 am and are closed by 8 pm, from Monday to Saturday. Coffee or pizza stores are always opened, and closed between 2 am and 6 am.
Currency
Argentina has the "peso" ($) with bills for $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100, and coins for $1 and 50, 25, 10 and 5 cents.
The US dolar is internationally the most used currency. You can change them for pesos at Exchange Houses, where you need to show your passport. Almost all commercial stores in Buenos Aires accept credit cards and dolars. The exchange currency is in favor of tourism. Most banks are located in the "city" area; San Martin, Reconquista, 25 de Mayo, Sarmiento, Peron, and Mitre streets, from 100 up to 500 (street numbers).

You can find them everywhere in the city, at banks or other commercial stores. You can make almost every bank transaction.
Tips
Usually, tips are 10 % of the price at restaurants or coffee stores, and it is common to tip doormen, bellboys, etc.
Shopping
The city has different commercial areas; antique shops in San Telmo, books on Corrientes Avenue, leather products in Retiro, souvenirs in La Boca, etc. Palermo Viejo offers the lastest products in design, and avant-guarde objects, art, clothes, and services.
SHOPPING ALL DAY
In Buenos Aires, commercial stores are opened almost all day. The most important shopping malls, where you can find the best national and international brands, are opened up to 10 pm.
At Las Cañitas, Palermo Viejo, Palermo Hollywood, Barrio Norte and San Telmo, you can also shop late in the evening. You can find clothes, shoes, accesories, souvenirs, hairdressers and art galleries.
24 HOUR STORES
"Quioscos" are very particular stores, like drugstores. You can find them almost in every block, small, and big stores selling candy, cigarettes, food, batteries, aspirins, and almost everything you can imagine, to take you out of a little emergency. You can also obtain information if you have doubts about bus lines, cabs, subways, streets, etc; the people that work in them know almost everything in the area they are, and are opened 24 hs.
SALE PRICES
Those who are seeking products like music or books, can check out the sale stores at Corrientes Avenue (between Cerrito and Callao), or Avenida de Mayo (between Bolivar and Uruguay).
For clothes at lower prices, you can go to the Outlets, on Cordoba Avenue, between Scalabrini Ortiz and Godoy Cruz.
SHOPPINGS
At the shopping malls you can find shops, but also food and movies. The "FERIAS" (markets) are the perfect place to learn Buenos Aire`s shopping taste, every saturday, sunday and holidays at different parks.
